Key Scripture: John 17:26 (NKJV)

26 “And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

Mark 12:30 (NKJV)

30 “‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.‘  This is the first commandment.”

General Prayer Focus: Husbands

Specific Prayer Focus: Love For God

Prayer: Father, I thank You for my husband and ask that You would pour out Your blessing on him today. I ask that You would put the love that You have for Your own Son Jesus into his heart, causing him to overflow with love for Jesus. I pray that the same affection, passion, and delight that You have in Jesus would grow within my husband’s heart and that He would feel the emotions of Your heart for Your Son, being impacted and transformed by it. I pray that His love for Jesus would far surpass his love for me as his wife and that he would have a longing and desire for more intimacy with You. I pray that You would give him the ability to love You with all of his heart, all of his soul, all of his mind, and all of his strength – holding nothing back! I pray that You would empower him by Your Holy Spirit to love You wholeheartedly, not allowing any compromise or sin to keep him from giving himself completely to You.

And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’[a] This is the first commandment.

Key Scripture: Psalm 34:4-5 (NIV)

4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.

General Prayer Focus: Family

Specific Prayer Focus: Parents Suffering from Guilt

Prayer: Father, today I pray for parents who struggle with feelings of guilt and shame when they feel like they have failed or made mistakes.  So often we mess up as parents and do things we later regret or simply don’t have the wisdom we need to make the right decisions.  It’s easy for the enemy to assault us with guilt and shame and condemnation, so I pray for these parents, that You would draw them to Yourself with Your tender mercy and lovingkindness.  I pray that You would cause them to come to You with their fears and insecurities and inadequacies and that You would deliver them from the lies of the enemy that would seek to separate them from You.  I pray that they would look into Your face and see the depths of Your love and grace for them in their time of desperate need and that You would remove all shame from their hearts.  I pray that they would be filled with great joy and that You fill them to overflowing with Your love, that that same love would flow to their children.  I pray that they would not be locked down by shame and guilt, but that they would be motivated by Your Holy Spirit to seek to be godly parents and learn from their mistakes and move on.  I pray that You would give them the strength and comfort and encouragement they need, as well as the wisdom in how to change and move forward in the right direction.  Where they feel lost or overwhelmed or discouraged, I pray that You would shine the light of Your face upon them and deliver them from their fears, in Jesus’ Name.  Amen!

Key Scripture: Psalm 147:10-11

10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
       nor his delight in the legs of a man;
11 the LORD delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.

General Prayer Focus: Marketplace

Specific Prayer Focus: Not Trusting in our Own Strength

Prayer: Father, today I lift up the men and women in the marketplace whom You have gifted with incredible skills and abilities.  I thank You for these ones who have chosen to use the gifts they’ve been given for Your glory and Your purposes.  Yet, at the same time, I thank You that Your plan is not dependent upon our strength and that You actually take no delight in what we can accomplish with our own power.  Father, I pray that each man and woman who is working in the marketplace would depend fully upon You for everything, having the fear of Lord and putting their hope completely in Your love.  I pray that they would not trust in their own might or wisdom or ability, but that they would seek You daily to help them in their jobs, with their decisions, tasks, goals and dreams.  I pray that You would protect them from pride and keep them leaning upon You and listening to You for guidance and direction.  I pray that they would have the fear of the Lord so that they would make righteous choices that would please You and that they would be filled with Your love daily, in Jesus’ Name.  Amen!

Key Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5-7

5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

General Prayer Focus: Family

Specific Prayer Focus: Sacred Parenting

Tidbit of Information: “…having kids isn’t about us – it’s about him.  We are called to bear and raise children for the glory of God.” (Sacred Parenting, Gary Thomas, pg. 16)

Prayer: Father, today I pray for parents, that as they seek to love You with all their heart, soul and strength, that You would give them the grace and strength to teach their children to do the same.  I pray that You would write Your Word upon the hearts of parents today and show them how they can impress Your Word upon the hearts of their children.  God, would You show us that parenting is not about us, but it’s about You and about raising our kids for Your glory.  I ask that You would give us wisdom in how to parent, as well as creativity and discernment in how to teach and instruct our children in Your ways.  Father, I pray that You would help parents to be a godly example their children, that our lives and actions would match what we are saying with our words.  Would You empower us to realize the sacred and holy calling that parenthood truly is and give us the grace to be made holy and more like You, Father, in our journey of parenting.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.

Pure Eyes

Key Scripture: Psalm 101:2-4 (NIV)

2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life—
when will you come to me?
I will walk in my house
       with blameless heart.
3 I will set before my eyes
       no vile thing.
       The deeds of faithless men I hate;
they will not cling to me.
 4 Men of perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will have nothing to do with evil.

General Prayer Focus: Media

Specific Prayer Focus: Pure Eyes

Prayer: Father, today I pray that You would raise up men like David who would vow to set before their eyes no vile thing.  Lord, You know how easy it is to access impure media today in television, movies, adult stores, and online and how men are constantly bombarded with temptation to indulge their eyes with lust and violence.  So I pray that You would pour out Your Spirit in a great measure upon men to empower them to resist and flee from the enemy!  I pray that the Holy Spirit would tenderly and strongly convict the hearts of men and cause them to turn from anything that is impure and to instead fix their eyes upon You and Your beauty and majesty.  I pray that You would come with power to break off shame and fear and that You would set men free from their addictions and bondage.  Would You give them the resolve and courage to seek to live a blameless life and walk in their homes with a blameless heart.  As they partake in media, would they choose to not allow evil to cling to them nor to allow anything perverse to come near them.  I pray that You would equip men with the tools they need to keep their eyes pure – like accountability, ministries, counseling, Your Word, godly media, and an increase of Your presence in their lives.  In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Unity in Marriage

Key Scripture: Matthew 19:4-6

4“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

General Prayer Focus: Marriage

Specific Prayer Focus: Unity

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the gift of marriage and that You created it to be a beautiful picture and representation of the relationship that Your Church will have with her Bridegroom Jesus.  Today, I pray for marriages within the Body of Christ, that You would strengthen them and cause them to have a firm foundation in You.  Father, You designed marriage to be a picture of unity and oneness, something that You joined together, so I pray for greater unity in marriages today.  I pray that husbands and wives would be bound together in love and that nothing would be able to separate them.  I pray that the high divorce rate in Christian homes would be shattered and brought down and that You would strengthen the hearts of men and women to persevere through the trials and remain committed to their marriage vows.  Lord, would You cause love to abound in the marriages in Your Church, that husbands and wives would love each other with the same love that is in Your heart for them.  I pray for an unconditional and passionate love in marriage that cannot be quenched by the attacks of the enemy that would seek to drive them apart.  Lord, would You restore marriage to the way You designed it to be – a joining of a man and woman in perfect unity with each other and with You, in Jesus’ Name.  Amen!

Wealth Transfer to the Righteous

Key Scripture: Ecclesiastes 2:26 (NIV)

To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God…

General Prayer Focus: The Marketplace

Specific Prayer Focus: Wealth Transfer to the Righteous for the sake of the Gospel

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the men and women of God who work in the marketplace and seek to please You in their jobs.  Lord, I ask that You would give them great wisdom and knowledge in their spheres of work, that they may prosper in everything they put their hands to.  Father, I pray that You would cause Your people to desire to please You above all else when it comes to their jobs and their finances.  I pray that they would have great wisdom in how to invest and spend their money and that they would be given guidance and direction from Your Holy Spirit as they make business decisions.  I pray that they would be found trustworthy with Your wealth, for all the wealth of the world belongs to You, and that they would have hands that are open to allow finances to flow through them without wanting to keep and hoard it for themselves.  I pray that You would even use the wicked of the earth to amass wealth and then cause it to be transferred into the hands of the righteous, who would be listening for Your command on where it should go.  I pray that You would use Your men and women in the marketplace to acquire wealth for the sake of the Gospel and to aid the poor and oppressed of the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Israel Undivided

Key Scripture: Isaiah 60:1-3 (NIV)

The Glory of Zion

1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
3 Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”

General Prayer Focus: Israel

Specific Prayer Focus: For Israel to remain undivided

Tidbit of Information: “The central problem is the White House and State Department are trying to force Israel to divide Jerusalem and divide Judea & Samaria, commonly known as the West Bank. This is a mistake for numerous reasons, particularly because of Joel 3:1 in which the Lord says in the last days He will ‘enter into judgment’ with ‘all the nations’ because they have terribly mistreated the Jewish people ‘and they have divided up My land.’

Prophetically, I believe Israel will eventually be isolated from all countries in the world, especially as we approach the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 & 39. Eventually, the Lord will wean Israel off of every nation – including the U.S. – so that the Jewish people only have Him to turn to and depend upon. That said, however, the Scriptures are clear in Genesis 12:1-3 and elsewhere that those who bless Israel, He will bless, and those who curse Israel, He will curse. We want our countries to be blessed by God, to experience repentance and revival and to be blessings to the rest of the world. Now, therefore, is the most critical time for true followers of Jesus Christ to show unconditional love and unwavering support to Israelis and to their Palestinian neighbors. We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We need to show the love of Jesus to every Jew and Gentile in the Holy Land. And we need to strengthen the Church in the epicenter, encourage pastors and ministry leaders, and help them fulfill Isaiah 60:1-4.” (Source)

Prayer: Father, I pray that You would give all of us a greater revelation of the intense love and passion that is in Your heart towards Israel and Your chosen people.  I thank You for the hundreds of prophetic promises in Your Word where You declare the restoration of Israel and her people and how Your Son Jesus will one day rule as King from Jerusalem!  But until that day, there is much strife and contention over that land and nations seeking to divide it for their own purposes.  Lord, we ask that You would bring to the attention of world leaders the necessity of blessing Israel and standing with her in these end days, that they may be blessed and not cursed.  Lord, would You reveal to the world leaders Your will and Your purposes for this land and may they turn to You for wisdom on how to resolve the current conflicts.  We realize that as the end draws near, that all nations will turn against Your people and that there can never truly be peace until Jesus returns, but until then, we still pray for the peace of Jerusalem and ask that Your glory would rise upon her.  May her land remain undivided and consecrated unto the Lord, in Jesus’ Name.  Amen!

Healing for Women Who’ve Had an Abortion

Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NIV)

14May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

General Prayer Focus: LIFE/Abortion

Specific Prayer Focus: Healing for women who’ve had an abortion in Canada

Tidbit of Information: “As many as 80-90% of women testify that they struggle with depression and anxiety after having an abortion and MOST women say the quality of their lives is NOT enhanced but reduced after their abortion. Every study that we have seen indicates that most women deeply regret their abortion and wish they would have known 1) the stage that their baby was at when they were terminated and 2) what the potential emotional and psychological outcomes for their lives would be.” (Source)

Prayer: Father, today I bring to You in prayer the women in Canada who have had an abortion and I ask that You would pour out the grace of Jesus upon them.  Father, where they feel weak and broken, would Your grace bring healing to their hearts and their bodies.  Father, I ask that You would lavish Your great love upon them, that they might know Your mercy and forgiveness and be set free from depression and self-hatred.  I ask that in their pain that they would turn to You and seek Your face and be washed clean and completely restored by the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross for them.  Would You fill them with Your Holy Spirit and would they enter into fellowship with Him, receiving a revelation of Your heart towards them as they walk with the Holy Spirit in communion and friendship.  I ask that You would minister to the void that they may be feeling after losing their baby and bring complete healing to their emotions, bodies, and any psychological effects of having an abortion.  Would You set them free from shame and condemnation and replace it with Your love and a love for the lives of the unborn, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Human Trafficking in Malaysia

Key Scripture: Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV)

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
       to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
       instead of ashes,
       the oil of gladness
       instead of mourning,
       and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
       a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor.

General Prayer Focus: Malaysia

Specific Prayer Focus: Ending of human trafficking

Tidbit of Information: “While a few of the human trafficking victims in Malaysia (mostly of Chinese ethnicity) are exported to other countries, most victims are of Malaysian descent or imported into Malaysia from Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar (Burma), Mongolia and China…Often these immigrants are victimized by their employers, employment agents, or traffickers that supply migrant laborers and victims of sex trafficking.” (Source)

Prayer: Father, I thank You that You anointed Your Son Jesus with Your Spirit to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners!  Today I pray for those caught in human trafficking in the nation of Malaysia and that You would bring an end to this modern form of slavery.  I pray that You would bring justice on behalf of the oppressed men, women and children who have been forced or tricked into slavery and that You would rescue and deliver them from their oppressors.  God, would You proclaim freedom for these captives and comfort all who mourn.  I pray that You would encounter the government and traffickers with the fear of the Lord, that they would be convicted of their sin and be compelled to take action to end this terrible crime.  Lord, would You demonstrate Your power and Your mercy by rescuing these prisoners from darkness and replacing all of their pain and sorrow with Your beauty and healing.  I pray for Christ-based organizations in Malaysia to grow in number and in strength and that You would equip them with everything they need to be a haven for victims that can bring restoration and the love of Jesus.  Amen!
